FORK LIFT FAQS:
WHO ISSUES THE FORK LIFT CERTIFICATION?
Certificates are issued by the Transportation Health and Safety Association (THSAO). Our course instructor is a certified trainer for THSAO.

IS THE CERTIFICATE WIDELY RECOGNIZED?
The certificate you receive upon successful completion of the course is what is required by the industry. It is recognized by all companies in Ontario, Canada.

I DON'T HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENCE, CAN I TAKE THE FORKLIFT COURSE?
Yes. Applicants are not required to have an Ontario driver's licence.

I GOT MY FORK LIFT CERTFICATE THROUGH MY COMPANY. IF I LEAVE THAT COMPANY WILL MY FORK LIFT CERTIFICATE BE VALID ELSEWHERE?
No. The certificate you receive through company training is not transferable to use at another company. You will have to re-take the fork lift training. If you have proof of training at your company, you may be eligible to take the re-training course. (see guidelines)

WHAT TYPE OF FORK  LIFT DOES THE CERTIFICATE ALLOW ME TO OPERATE?
All standard fork lifts (counterbalance, narrow isle, raymond reach & more. If a company uses specialized fork lifts, they will provide the additional training in-house. Our certificates include propane exchange. This certificate allows persons to operate & fuel propane-powered fork lifts. 

MY FORK LIFT CERTIFICATE DOESN'T HAVE AN EXPIRY DATE ON IT. HOW LONG IS THE FORK LIFT CERTIFICATE FOR?
Previous certficates were good for 2 years. The new certificate is good for 3 years. All 3 year certificates have an expiry date on them.

I LOST MY FORK LIFT CERTIFICATE, HOW CAN I GET ANOTHER ONE? 
If you took your certification through Ontario Truck Driving School, we are able to verify course dates and could request another one from the THSAO. There is a fee to obtain a replacement certificate. Please contact the office for fee information. If you took the training elsewhere, you will need to contact them directly for replacement information. If they are no longer around, you will have to re-do the Full Fork Lift Course to obtain your certficate.

I lOST MY FORK LIFT CERTIFICATE, AND I KNOW IT'S ABOUT TO EXPIRE, CAN I TAKE THE RE-CERTIFICATION COURSE.
If you took your certification through Ontario Truck Driving School, we would be able to verify course dates and advise if you qualify to take the Re-Certification course. If you obtained your certification elsewhere, you will need to obtain a copy from them, otherwise you will have to take the Full Fork Lift Course to obtain a new certificate.

WHO CAN TAKE THE RE-CERTIFICATION COURSE?
Individuals an with existing Fork Lift Certificate that is about to expire, or persons whose certificate has expired and the expiry date is not more than 2 months prior to the course date are eligible to take the Re-Certification Course.

I USED TO BE CERTIFIED FOR THE FORK LIFT, BUT MY CERTIFICATE EXPIRED. CAN I TAKE THE RE-CERTIFICATION COURSE?
Yes. As long as your certificate did not expire more than 2 months prior to the course date. (No exceptions.) You must bring in your expired certificate to be able to register for the re-certification course.

HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR FORK LIFT TRAINING?
Registration can be done at our offices, on-line or via fax. If registering for a re-certification course, you must also include a copy of your current or expired* fork lift certificate. *Expired certificates must meet qualifications as mentioned above.
